Recommended actions
A recent WorldShare Collection Manager release allows institutions to specify knowledge base collection order to promote either open access content or licensed content in WorldCat Discovery.
- Prior to this release, you could order links by provider only. With this enhancement, you can now order links by collections, which can be created and interleaved with multiple providers.
- Configure this setting in the WorldShare Collection Manager Institution Settings > WorldCat Discovery > Display Order section of OCLC Service Configuration.
For more details, see WorldShare Collection Manager Release notes, June 2022.
New features and enhancements
Navigate to borrowing history via a "borrowing history" link in the header & footer
Users can now access borrowing history in User Portal through links provided in the header & footer.
Enable borrowing history for users who have opted in to borrowing history in the WMS Circulation > Admin/General > History section of OCLC Service Configuration.
StackMap functionality is now available to WorldCat Discovery Premium subscribers with an active StackMap subscription
WorldCat Discovery Premium/WMS StackMap subscribers can now enable StackMap in their library’s service configuration. Enable this feature in the Third-Party Integrations > Stackmap section of OCLC Service Configuration.
More detailed configuration steps can be found on this StackMap help page.
For more information on the StackMap feature, please view this documentation.
Aria labels for screen readers now match the display title
For users who use screen readers, Aria labels will now match the display title in the Discovery interface. This will reduce unnecessary text being read by the screen reader and facilitate navigating by the first letter in the title when using the NVDA element list for links.
Previous state:
• Title: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”
• Aria label: “Select this title to view the Detailed Record for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”
With this release:
• Title: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”
• Aria label: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”
Increased shortcode limit for Talis Aspire reading lists to 50 characters
For institutions using the Talis Aspire integration with WorldCat Discovery, this release includes an update to service configuration. Libraries can now enter up to 50 characters in the shortcode field for Talis Aspire reading lists. This increase in character limit will allow libraries to better meet their institutional needs. To configure or update the shortcode field for Talis Aspire reading lists, navigate to Service Configuration > Third-Party Integrations > Talis Aspire Reading Lists.

Include Request ID with problem reports
When reporting an issue with WorldCat Discovery, it is extremely helpful to include the Request ID. The Request ID is found at the bottom of the screen on which the issue occurred. Including this information allows us to directly trace what happened on the request we are troubleshooting.
