Introduction
This release of CapiraMobile provides new features and enhancements in addition to numerous bug fixes for users on the newest version of the app with Staff Dashboard access.
- Improved Staff Dashboard access controls - set specific permissions for each team member
- ILS specific checkout and holds sort order
Many of these enhancements are the direct result of your feedback.
Recommended actions
Select enhancements and bug fixes require users to update or restart their app. If your users do not see one of the changes made, please ask them to ensure they have updated their app and ask them to force close the app and restart it.

Improved Staff Dashboard access controls - set specific permissions for each team member
Overview
We have introduced enhanced capabilities for managing user permissions within the Staff Dashboard, along with improved guidance during user creation. This update provides your library staff admins greater control over user access and clearer instructions to ensure compliance with username and password requirements.
Benefits
- Improved Security: Your admins can tailor user access more precisely by disabling specific module permissions as needed.
- Simplified User Management: Clear access levels and default permission settings reduce confusion and streamline the onboarding process.
- Better Compliance: Enhanced help text ensures usernames and passwords meet security standards, reducing errors during user creation.
- Preserved User Settings: Existing users with restricted permissions retain their access, preventing unintended changes.
Key Updates
- Removal of Restricted Alerts Access
- The previous restriction on Alerts access has been removed, allowing for more flexible permission management.
- Permission Toggle for Dashboard Modules
- When creating a new user, your admins can now disable permissions for the following Dashboard modules:
- Media
- Pickup Location
- Branches
- Options - Account
- Options - Event Filters
- Options - Mobile Checkout
- Options - Branches/Map
- Carousels
- Screens
- Styles
- Alerts/Notifications

- Default Behavior: All permissions are enabled by default.

Three access levels are now clearly defined:

Admin: The super user created and supplied to your library by OCLC

Full Access: Users with all permissions enabled.

Limited Access: Users with one or more permissions toggled off.

Users with previously restricted permissions will retain their existing permissions after this update.

- Help Text Enhancements During User Creation

Username field: "Must be at least 8 characters (alpha or numeric). No special characters are accepted."

Password field: "Must be at least 12 characters. Numbers and special characters are accepted but are not required."

Koha libraries - My Checkouts sorted by due date
"My Checkouts" list for Koha libraries has been updated to sort items by their due date instead of the checkout date. Overdue items now appear at the top of the list, followed by items due soonest.

- Improved Visibility: Users can quickly identify which items are overdue or due soon, helping them manage returns more effectively and avoid potential late fees.

- Enhances user experience by prioritizing time-sensitive information.
- Encourages timely returns and reduces overdue items.

Evergreen libraries - My Checkouts sorted by due date
"My Checkouts" list for Evergreen libraries has been updated to sort items by their due date instead of the checkout date. Overdue items now appear at the top of the list, followed by items due soonest.

Polaris libraries - Available Holds Prioritized at Top of List
Holds in My Holds are now ordered with "Available" holds at the top of the list instead of in a random order. Remaining holds follow below in their existing order.

- Faster pickup management: Your patrons and staff can immediately identify items ready for pickup, reducing confusion and wait times.
- Improved user experience: Prioritizing available holds surfaces the most actionable items, making the Holds view more useful at a glance.
Impact
- Your patrons will more easily find and retrieve items ready for pickup, likely decreasing missed pickups and follow-up inquiries.
- Library staff may see fewer support requests about where to find ready holds.
