I sent a record to the label lists, but nothing is showing in the label preview.

Symptom
  • In Record Manager under the My Labels feature when I go to Label Print Lists and I select my list, I see the records that I have added to the list.  However, there is nothing showing for the records on the label previews below.  I can click edit to open an individual label preview, but it does not have any data from the record when it opens.

Resolution

The data that displays inside the label preview has to be set up inside the Label Template that you are using.

  1. Click on Label Templates under My Labels.
  2. Open the template you wish to edit.
  3. Click Label Content Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Label Setup and notice that there are drop-down windows for content, font, size, style, and alignment.
  5. Check to see if the words Blank Line/Free Text are displaying in the Label Setup.  If you don't see those words displayed, please contact OCLC Support.
  6. Select a value that is not Blank Line/Free Text under the Content column to have data populate into the label preview.

If the above does not resolve the issue, try the following:

  1. Clear your web browser's cache and cookies history.
  2. If the preview is still blank, open a Private/Incognito window in your web browser and then try to access your label preview, or check to see if the preview is still blank in alternative web browsers (ie. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
  3. If the preview is still blank, this could mean there's an issue with the template itself. Make an edit somewhere in the label template, save, remove that edit and re-save. Check if the label preview now populates.
