How do I get a MARC record into WorldShare Record Manager?

Applies to

  • WorldShare Record Manager
  • Connexion

Answer

There is not a way to import a MARC record directly into WorldShare Record Manager. Usually, records are derived from WorldCat records and modified as needed, but if a library has a series of MARCs to import, the solution is to use Connexion to open the MARC files and save them to the Online Save File.

See: Import bibliographic records in Connexion

Once you've imported the record, you can search for it in the Saved - In Progress file in Record Manager and modify the record as necessary.
