Modernized Collection Search (Search>Collection)

When you search for collections in WorldShare Collection Manager, you will now see a modernized, highly responsive search results grid. Your familiar sidebar search controls remain unchanged, while the results area has been updated to provide a smoother, more accessible experience.

Within this modernized interface, you can continue to seamlessly manage your collections with the following updated elements:

  • Clearer results layout: Results display in a structured table with key columns including Collection, Type/Attributes, Provider, Updated, Selections, Sharing, and Action.

  • Powerful filtering: Use the Filters control to narrow results by common criteria such as Collection type, Collections I created, Open Access content, Demand Driven Acquisitions, Discontinued, Document Delivery, Google Scholar, Maintain WorldCat holdings, MARC record delivery, OCLC cataloged collections, Sharing, and Use proxy. Filters that don’t apply to your institution are automatically hidden.

  • Improved usability and consistency: The grid supports horizontal scrolling when needed, keeps the Action column visible, and includes text and styling updates to improve readability and consistency.
  • More accurate page details and navigation: Page titles and timestamps align with expected behavior, and collection links open in the correct context when launched from different areas of WorldShare.

  • Quick navigation from results: Use links in the Name column to open related details. For provider-related entries, selecting the provider name can also narrow the results to that provider’s activity.

Easily see which holdings feeds need attention using the "Contact Support" status (Collection Manager>Home)

When there is an issue with a holdings feed, you may now see a Contact support status in the holdings feed table. This status helps highlight feeds that may need attention and provides a direct link to OCLC Support.

Within this update, you’ll see the following behavior:

  • Clear status indicator: A feed can display Contact support in the Status column, making it easy to spot feeds that may need attention.
  • Direct link to Support: Selecting Contact support opens the OCLC Support page in a new tab so you can quickly review next steps or open a case.
  • Status clears after updates: If you edit the feed’s token values (add, remove, or change a value), the Contact support status is cleared and the feed returns to its prior status.
