Error log

Learn how to use the Error log to review the errors in your CONTENTdm (new version) instance.

Use the error log to review errors in your CONTENTdm (new version) instance.

If no errors are present, No errors to display appears. If the Error log fails to load, use the Try again link beneath the error messages. 

Error log description

Column name Description
Error type

The two types of errors are:

  • Failure
  • Processing Error
Subtype

Subtypes include:

  • Filename not found
  • File not uploaded
  • Empty rows
  • Locked item
Detail

Explains the specific issue. 

Examples:

  • Row number 13 has a duplicate filename.
  • Row number 3 missing file.
  • 2 empty rows removed from batch.
  • Locked item could not be copied to draft.
Item title Click on the hyperlink to be taken to the item.
Batch ID A group of items submitted during a bulk action will receive a Batch ID that you can track in the Process manager
Collection Click on the hyperlink to be taken to the Collection.
Date

Date of the error's occurrence. 

  • This field is sortable. 
  • Format as (mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM)

Delete all

  1. Click Delete all to delete the error log.
  2. A confirmation dialog appears.
  3. Select Delete to confirm or select Go back to return.
  4. If the deletion is successful, a confirmation appears. 

Deleting items from the Error log does not remove them from the Process manager
