The print and download buttons are disabled, but users are still able to print and download PDFs
Symptom
- The box next to "Enable Download button" and "Enable Print button" is not checked in the Website Configuration Tool.
- When users expand PDF images, they are able to print and download the file anyway.

Resolution
The "Enable Print/Download button" option puts the button above the search box within the item record. Disabling these options prevents those buttons from appearing.
However, disabling these buttons won't prevent the print and download buttons from appearing in a PDF's expanded view. This is because CONTENTdm uses the browser's download/print capabilities.
Additional information
This only applies to PDFs. Other image viewers, such as for .tif files, won't display the print/download options.
