How can I get a full index history of a collection?

Applies to

  • CONTENTdm

Answer

The index history view in CONTENTdm Administration only shows the 100 most recent indexing attempts, but  there is a way to get a full index history of a collection.

Every collection has an index log that's recorded as a text file on the server and can be accessed via the direct pathway to that log.

The link construction always follows this rule: https://server#####.contentdm.oclc.org/cgi-bin/admin/getfile.exe?CISOMODE=1&CISOFILE=/ALIAS/index/description/log.txt

Replace ##### with your server number and ALIAS with the collection alias.
