Use JPEG2000 files
JPEG2000 is an ideal format for efficiently displaying large-scale images at high resolutions. You can generate JPEG2000 display images from your full-resolution images when you add them to your project.
JPEG2000 settings enable you to specify compression types and levels, as well as advanced settings, for your JPEG2000 images, leaving your archival source images unchanged. JPEG2000 settings should be established before you add items by using the Project Settings Manager. Refer to Project settings for more information.
JPEG2000 display images are the same pixel dimensions as the source images, and resolution levels are derived from the source image.
Add existing JPEG2000 images
Existing JPEG2000 images can be added to Project Client projects as regular items. For the most efficient delivery of images, existing JPEG2000 files should be tiled in an image processing application before they are added to the Project Client.
- Only JPEG2000 files with the .jp2 extension are supported in CONTENTdm.
For more information, see Add items and objects.
Add full-resolution files and generating JPEG2000 display images
You can generate JPEG2000 display images when you add full-resolution TIFF or JPEG files. You can import these files one at a time, in batches, or as part of a compound object. See Add compound objects for more information.
For more information about adding items and objects, see Add items and objects.
