Fund Balance
Overview
The Fund Balance report summarizes fund balance activity for a specified budget period. It provides a snapshot of your funds and includes the details of the amount budgeted, encumbered, and expended. Top-level KPIs provide quick statistics of budgeted, expended, encumbered, and remaining fund amounts. A visualization will provide a gauge to quickly see the remaining percentage of the budget. This report can be used to determine the status of all of your funds. You can use this report for high-level analysis and management reporting.
This report defaults to your current budget period, but can be filtered (and bookmarked) to select other budgets. You can also easily select to see your over- or undercommitted funds by selecting a Fund Balance Status slicer value.

- Data refresh rate: This report's data is updated nightly. It will be updated by 6 a.m. at your institution's data center time. The data will be "as of" the end of the previous day.
- Data history start date: Data since the institution started using WMS Acquisitions

Visuals
The Fund Balance report contains four visuals.
- Budgeted Amount - The total amount budgeted for all of your current funds.
- Remaining Fund Balance - The total remaining balance for all of your current funds.
- Fund Encumbered Amount - The total amount encumbered for all of your current funds.
- Fund Expended Amount - The total amount expended for all of your current funds.
Slicer
The Fund Balance report visual has a Fund Balance Status slicer that can be applied. By default, the slicer is set to All.
Select one of the following values to update the report visuals and table.
- Overcommitted - Funds for which the remaining fund balance exceeds the budgeted amount.
- Undercommitted - Funds for which the remaining fund balance has not yet met the budgeted amount.
Columns
The Fund Balance report contains the following columns. Click on a column name for more information.
You can click a column name to change the column sort.
- Click once to sort the column in ascending order.
- Click twice to sort the column in descending order.
- Click three times to restore the column to its original order.
