How can I get a list of OCLC numbers for items in a specific shelving location?
Applies to
- WorldShare Collection Evaluation
- WorldShare Record Manager
Answer
To get a list of OCLC numbers for items in a particular shelving location, go to WorldShare Analytics and click into Collection Evaluation > My Library. This tool allows you to filter by shelving location and export a report that includes the OCLC numbers for all records in that location. Once exported, you can copy the OCLC numbers into the appropriate fields in Record Manager for further actions like batch deletions.
Follow these steps to create and export the file:
- Click on the Analytics tab at the top of the screen.
- Select My Library from the left-hand menu under the Collection Evaluation section.
- Check the box next to Location in the Limits section.
- Click on Add Location Parameter and select the shelving location from the pop-up menu.
- Click Apply to set the parameters.
- Use the Export a title list button to generate a file that includes the OCLC numbers.
This method is especially useful when working with large numbers of records, such as preparing a list of OCLC numbers for batch deletion of bibliographic and LHR holdings.
