I receive a 'This search returned a failed status code from the server.' using the OCLC API Integration in MarcEdit

Symptom

• You receive an error:  "This search returned a failed status code from the server."

Applies to

• WorldCat Metadata API

Resolution

Older versions of MarcEdit may still try to use endpoints from versions 1.x of the WorldCat Metadata API, which has been decommissioned.

If you are using anything less than MarcEdit 7.6.15, you will need to update, then retry. Versions of MarcEdit newer than 7.6.15 will use the new, correct v2 endpoint.
