Why do LHRs that are not attached to the Bib records in Record Manager show up on the records in WorldCat Discovery?

Answer

If you choose to show availability from the edition group in Service Configuration, each record in the edition cluster will display availability information on the main record. This information comes from records linked in the 776 field of the MARC record. This applies to all records in the edition cluster, with data also sourced from linked records in the 776 field of the MARC record.

If you want to change this, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into the OCLC Service Configuration (worldcat.org/config).
  2. Navigate to WorldCat Discovery and WorldCat Local > Search Settings > Search Defaults
  3. Under Default Grouping, look for the Define the default display of item availability for grouped records setting.
  4. Choose Display availability from the OCLC number only.
