Why are numbers repeated in the Searches Used report for WorldCat Discovery?
Applies to
- OCLC Usage Statistics
- WorldCat Discovery
Answer
It is normal for numbers to be repeated in the Searches Used report. This is because WorldCat Discovery allows searching multiple databases in a single query. The report shows how many times each database was searched. Some of these databases are grouped, so when a user searches the database group, it searches all the databases in the group at once. So that one search is counted in each database.
If you have a default database or database group set to search, those databases will have higher numbers than the others, which are only searchable via Advanced Search.
